Fins Environmental Service, LLC d/b/a Honey Wagon Septic provides PSMA certified inspections for septic systems.  Our inspectors thoroughly follow PSMA (Pennsylvania Septage Management Association) guidelines and regulations to ensure your septic system is functioning properly.  Upon completion of the inspection you will receive a written report stating the findings of the system, recommendations as well as any concerns.  PSMA standards do require that the septic tank/cesspool be pumped at time of inspection.

Do I need to have the septic inspected to purchase a home?
We highly recommend that you have a septic inspection done before purchasing a home.  This protects the buyer from potentially purchasing a home that may require a costly replacement system and it protects the seller from any possibility of being held accountable for the failing system.  Also, in some cases your mortgage company may require that a septic inspection be performed before they allow the purchase.  Be sure to ask your financial institution. 

The house I would like to purchase has been vacant.  Will that have an effect on the results of the inspection?
In cases where a home has been vacant for 7 days or more OR is not occupied everyday a Hydraulic Load Test will be performed.  This test takes 3 days to perform and must be completed before the inspection can be done.  A Hydraulic Load Test is the process of inducing water into the septic system to verify that the system is able to withstand normal everyday use.

Before we perform an inspection on any property, the following paperwork must be filled out and faxed to our office for scheduling.  This paperwork gives our inspector permission to be on the property and informs us as to which party will be paying for each job being performed.

ATTENTION REAL ESTATE AGENTS: Fill out the portions pertaining to your client then please fax the completed forms to the other agent/parties involved.  Have them complete their information with the tentative date of inspection and fax to our office.  Please make sure that responsible parties for payment have been clearly identified.  Paperwork that is not received properly noted will delay your inspection.  A member of the office staff will contact each agent to confirm.
